It’s Official: The New DOB "Worker Wallet Card" is Mandatory in NYC

The New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) has officially implemented the new Worker Wallet Card, which is now mandatory at all NYC construction sites, including Queens.

This card replaces multiple individual certifications such as:

• Supported Scaffold User/Installer
• Suspended Scaffold Supervisor/User
• Climber or Mast Climber User
• Rigger and other special permits

Additionally, it features an NFC chip for immediate scanning via the Training Connect app. This measure aims to combat fraud and simplify compliance with Local Law 196.
